FAIR TRADE QUIZ Many thanks to everyone who took part in the Fair Trade Quiz and helped raise £83 for the Fair Trade Foundation. 20 entries were submitted but only 2 people got all 30 questions right. The joint winners, Lindsay Latona & Johanne Thomson, are sharing the prize of Fair Trade chocolate. A list of the correct answers is pinned on the noticeboard at the entrance to the Kirk Hall & is also available from the Kirk Office
THE FAIR TRADE STALL will be up and running in Cramond Kirk Hall following the 9.45 am service on Sunday, 11 October. Time to start stocking up on your Halloween treats!
‘THE PLACE TO BE’ COFFEE MORNING is held in Pennywell Kirk Hall every Monday at 10 am with a monthly outing. All are welcome. Further details are available from Violetta on 07305 848150.
CRAMOND COFFEE & CHAT is on every Monday from 10.30 am to 12 noon in the Gathering Space of Cramond Kirk Hall.
THE GATHERING SPACE CAFÉ is closed for the half term holiday (13 – 17 October) but Heather, Kathy and the team look forward to seeing you again on Tuesday, 20 October.
A PRAYER WALK The next monthly prayer walk around the Pennywell area is being held on Monday, 12 October leaving from Pennywell Kirk at 12.45 pm finishing with refreshments and a chat. All are welcome to join us for a leisurely walk and prayers for our neighbours.
A GAMES & FILM AFTERNOON is being held in Pennywell Kirk Hall on Sunday, 18 October. From 1 pm the Uno cards will be out and from 3.30 pm the afternoon film will be the 1975 tv film “The Evacuees”. All are welcome to either or both.
JACK AND THE CRAMOND BEANSTALK Cramond Drama Group are excited to announce that tickets for this year’s panto “Jack and the Cramond Beanstalk” are on sale and it promises to be a fun-filled evening for all the family on 11 & 12 December. Further details and tickets are available HERE.
SAVE THE DATE Do you like quizzes? If you do, please join us for an intergenerational quiz at our Christmas holiday club – the theme : Christmas past and present - on Wednesday, 23 December from 12 noon to 1 pm. We need people born in every decade from the 1930’s onwards.
MANY THANKS to everyone who took part in and helped out at the recent ABC book group and cake sale. An especial mention to Eleanor Cameron for the very generous quantities of home baking and to Gabby from Zumba for the wonderful raffle contributions. £290 was raised and Cash for Kids will double this to a fantastic total of £580.
AND MANY THANKS to all those who continue to donate to the Ukraine bracelet appeal at the entrance to Cramond Kirk Hall. £45 has been raised for the Ukrainian Sunflower Scotland appeal over the summer.
CALLING ALL BELL RINGERS The bell ringing team at Cramond Kirk are looking for new volunteers to help ring the bell before the 9.45 am service. It's a lovely way to start your Sunday and training will be provided. Please contact Louise in the Kirk Office if you would like to get involved.
THE ENK NEWSLETTER The deadline for submitting items for the November newsletter (fliers, photos etc) is Monday, 19 October. Items should be sent to ENKeditors@gmail.com.
DONATIONS TO THE KIRK If you wish to donate to the Kirk by card on a Sunday morning, a sum-up machine is now located at the Kirk’s main door.
ENK WELCOME CARDS Yellow welcome cards are available at the Kirk doors. The cards allow visitors and members of the congregation wishing for information, advice or assistance, to leave their contact details and we will be able to respond quickly to their enquiries. There are boxes at the Kirk doors for completed cards.
THE WEDNESDAY CLUB starts its new season at 7.30 pm on 14 October, meeting in Cramond Kirk Hall. All are welcome.
THE CRAMOND WALKERS next walk is on Tuesday, 13 October with a circular walk from Crieff over Laggan Hill returning along Lady Mary’s Walk and the Turret Burn (8 km). Meet : Barnton Avenue West at 9.30 am or 55 Carrington Terrace, Crieff at 10.45 am. Further information is available HERE.
CROSSREACH NEWS & CHRISTMAS CARDS The autumn CrossReach newsletter as well as the CrossReach Christmas card & calendar collection for 2026 are now available. A few newsletters and catalogues can be found at the Cramond Kirk doors and the full catalogue is also available HERE. Please support the work of CrossReach as you prepare for Christmas.
FRESH START Many thanks for the recent donations of bedding, towels & kitchen equipment. Please could only easily portable goods be left in the Fresh Start boxes in Cramond Kirk Hall and we’d be very grateful if larger, heavier items could be taken direct to the Fresh Start warehouse at 22-24 Ferry Road Drive which is open from Mon – Thurs, 9 am – 4 pm.

LIVE STREAMING Please note that the 10 am service at Cramond Kirk and the 11 am service at Pennywell Kirk are live streamed to the Kirk website every Sunday morning. The cameras will focus on the front of the Kirks – the pulpit, lectern and Communion Table. However some of those sitting at the front may also be in camera shot.
