EDINBURGH NORTHWEST KIRK SESSION will be meeting in Cramond Kirk Hall at 7.15 pm on Monday, 24 November. All are welcome to attend and participate in the meeting although only members of the Kirk Session are permitted to vote on issues.

THE 2025 ADVENT BIBLE STUDY will be running on the 4 Tuesday evenings of Advent from 2 – 23 December at 7 pm and will cover the Advent themes of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. The study evenings will be held online only. Please contact Reverend Julia Cato for the zoom link at jcato@churchofscotland.org.uk. The first meeting, on the theme of Hope, will look at Isaiah 2 : 1 - 5 and Matthew 24 : 36 – 44.

RETIRING COLLECTION Many thanks to everyone who donated to the retiring collection for Poppy Scotland on 9 November. £252.60 was raised at Cramond and Pennywell.

THE FAIR TRADE STALL will be open on Sunday, 30 November when Cramond’s guest preacher will be Reverend David Coleman, Eco-Congregation Scotland Chaplain, and it will be the perfect opportunity to stock up on all your Advent and Christmas goodies.

THE CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL 2025 This year Cramond Kirk’s Christmas Tree Festival will take place from 30 November 2025 to 4 January 2026 and Pennywell’s Festival will be open to the public from 14 – 21 December. This year’s theme is “Our Enchanted Christmas”. Full details of the opening hours will be available next Sunday.

THE CHRISTMAS QUIZ IS HERE! Copies of this year’s Christmas quiz are now available at the Kirk doors and in the Kirk Hall. Hours of entertainment for you and your families for just £1 and all money raised will go towards the Christmas Fair charities – Fresh Start, the Police Scotland Youth Volunteers and the Kirk.

CHRISTMAS FAIR HAMPER TICKETS are now available at the Kirk doors & in the Kirk Hall. Tickets cost £2 each or 3 for £5. Please write your details on an envelope, pop in £2 & put the envelope in the “filled hamper envelope” box. And if you’d like 3 for £5, put your details on 3 envelopes, place 2 of them inside the third with your £5 and pop the filled envelope in the box.

CRAMOND COFFEE & CHAT FESTIVE LUNCH Please join us from 12 noon to 1.30 pm on Monday, 24 November for our special festive lunch. Thereafter the team will be taking a break until Monday, 12 January 2026.

‘THE PLACE TO BE’ COFFEE MORNING is held in Pennywell Kirk Hall every Monday at 10 am with a monthly outing. Further details are available from Violetta on 07305 848150. All are welcome.

BLACKHALL ST COLUMBA’S CHRISTMAS FAIR is being held on Saturday, 29 November from 2 pm to 4 pm and all are welcome.

THE CRAMOND WALKERS next walk is on Friday, 28 November with a walk west along the Forth & Clyde Canal  to Bonnybridge and then back along the Antonine Wall with refreshments at the Falkirk Wheel (8 km). Meet : Barnton Avenue West at 10 am or the Falkirk Wheel north car park at 10.40 am. Further information is available HERE. 

THE WEDNESDAY CLUB meets at 7.30 pm on 26 November with an autumn/Christmas craft night.

A ST ANDREW’S DAY SERVICE, with guest preacher the Very Reverend Dr Shaw Paterson, is being held in St Cuthbert's Church on Friday, 28 November at 2 pm followed by refreshments. All are welcome.

CROSSREACH CHRISTMAS CAROL CONCERT is being held in St Paul’s & St George’s Church, York Place on Friday, 5 December at 7 pm. Tickets cost £14.95 and are available HERE. Please join the CrossReach team for a festive programme of traditional and contemporary carols, performances from local choirs and an inspiring exhibition of artwork from CrossReach’s Heart for Art groups. There will also be a raffle, refreshments and the chance to purchase CrossReach Christmas cards and gifts on the night.

FRESH START – FESTIVE GOODIES As well as its Cookers for Christmas Appeal (www.freshstartweb.org.uk), Fresh Start is in need of festive goodies to make up Christmas food parcels.  Items such as Christmas biscuits, mince pies, cake, tea, coffee, chocolates etc would be very welcome. Donations can be left in the Fresh Start box in the Kirk Hall at any time or delivered to the Fresh Start warehouse at 22-24 Ferry Road Drive from Mon–Thurs, 9 am – 4 pm.

LIVE STREAMING Please note that the 10 am service at Cramond Kirk and the 11 am service at Pennywell Kirk are live streamed to the Kirk website every Sunday morning. The cameras will focus on the front of the Kirks – the pulpit, lectern and Communion Table. However some of those sitting at the front may also be in camera shot.
