WELCOME TO WORSHIP at Pennywell Kirk in church and on-line. We are glad you have been able to join us.

JOINING THE CHURCH If you are interested in becoming a member at Edinburgh Northwest Kirk (Cramond and Pennywell), please be in touch with the minister, Rev Julia A Cato, by e-mail (jcato@churchofscotland.org.uk) for a conversation. There will be an Enquirer's Gathering in the next couple of months as a step towards officially joining the church as a member.

THE GRAPEVINE MAGAZINE The March issue of Grapevine will be ready for collection by deliverers from the Kirk Hall on Sunday, 30 March.

SERVICE TIMES At its meeting on 6 March the Kirk Session voted to keep the times of the services as they are - 8.45 am and 10 am services at Cramond and an 11 am service at Pennywell. However there will be a monthly joint service at 10.30 am alternating between Cramond and Pennywell. These are likely to be on the first Sunday of each month.

THE JUMBLE SALE Many thanks to everyone who supported last Saturday’s Jumble Sale – the stallholders, the treasury team, the car park attendants and door keepers and the catering team as well as all those who donated and bought items. The sale has so far raised just over £4,000 which will be divided between Fresh Start, Scouting & Guiding and Edinburgh Northwest Kirk. The breakdown from the various stalls on the day is as follows :

LENT BIBLE STUDY Please join us for our Lent Study: “Hope in Hard Places” by Embrace the Middle East. We’ll be meeting in person and online every Tuesday for 4 weeks starting on Tuesday, 11 March at 7 pm in the Godly Play/Projection Room, Cramond Kirk Halls. To register or for enquiries, please email Rev Julia Cato at jcato@churchofscotland.org.uk or call 07706 454148.

THE JUMBLE SALE QUIZ There’s still time for the jumble sale quiz which is available at the Kirk doors and in the Kirk Hall and this year’s theme is “occupations”. Completed entries can be left in the boxes at the Kirk doors or in the Kirk Hall and the deadline for entries is 24 March. Please pick up a quiz and good luck!

A PRAYER WALK The first of a monthly prayer walk around the Pennywell area is being held on Monday, 10 March from 1 pm to 2 pm and all are welcome. Please meet at Pennywell Kirk garden at 1 pm.

THE CRAMOND WALKERS next walk is on Friday, 14 March with a walk from Linlithgow along the Union Canal to the aqueduct and then down to Muiravonside Park and back along the River Avon to Linlithgow (10 km). John Buchan Way to Cademuir Hill Forts and then back along the River Tweed to Peebles (12.5 km). Meet : Linlithgow Station at 11 am. Further information is available HERE

THE WEDNESDAY CLUB meets in the Kirk Hall at 7.30 pm on 12 March with an evening of Easter craft ideas with Anne Mather.

PENNYWELL MONTHLY WORKSHOPS The first in a series of monthly workshops is being held in Pennywell Kirk Hall on Sunday, 16 March from 1 pm – 3 pm. The theme of the first workshop is ”A Time to Remember” – a chance to remember loved ones, share your memories and how you are feeling with others who understand. All are welcome and refreshments will be available. For further details, please contact our Parish Development Worker, Violetta on 07305 848150.

THE ABC (ANNUAL BOOK CLUB) will be meeting in Cramond Kirk Hall on Wednesday, 19 March at 2 pm. Have you wanted to join a book group but haven’t the time. Then bring a book that you would recommend or are happy to talk about and swap with others or just encourage others to read what you have enjoyed. All your reading material for the year can be decided in just one meeting! Cake & coffee provided and donations will go to the Ferrywell Youth Project. Please let Louise in the Kirk Office know if you are interested in attending.

CRAMOND BOARDWALK VOLUNTEER DAY is taking place on Monday, 10 March from 9.30 am – 1 pm with a morning of planting sea grasses and wildflowers around the new boardwalk. All are welcome to drop in at any time and help with the planting. Gloves and tools will be provided. If you’d like to take part, please email kate@elgt.org.uk or phone 445 4025.

CREATIVE WRITING IN CRAMOND A friendly writing group for new & nearly new writers meets once a month in Cramond Kirk Hall. Their next meeting is on Thursday, 13 March between 10 am & 12 noon. All budding writers would be most welcome. Just bring along a pen and paper and a desire to write. There is a £5 charge for each session.

‘THE PLACE TO BE’ COFFEE MORNING is held in Pennywell Kirk Hall every Monday at 10 am. All are welcome.

CRAMOND COFFEE & CHAT is on every Monday from 10.30 am to 12 noon in the Gathering Space of Cramond Kirk Hall and all are welcome.

COVID-19 DAY OF REFLECTION is being held across the UK on Sunday, 9 March and we are asked to remember those who lost their lives in the pandemic, reflect on the sacrifices made by many and the impact the pandemic had on us all, pay tribute to the work of health and social care staff, frontline workers and researchers and appreciate those who volunteered and showed acts of kindness during this unprecedented time. FRESH START Many thanks for the donations of kitchen equipment, crockery and mugs. Donations are always welcome and can be left on the Fresh Start table in the Kirk Hall at any time or delivered to the Fresh Start warehouse at 22-24 Ferry Road Drive from Mon–Thurs, 9 – 4.

LIVE STREAMING Please note that the 10 am service at Cramond Kirk and the 11 am service at Pennywell Kirk are live streamed to the Kirk website every Sunday morning. The cameras will focus on the front of the Kirks – the pulpit, lectern and Communion Table. However some of those sitting at the front may also be in camera shot. For those of you watching from home, the link to Cramond Kirk's live stream can be found HERE and Pennywell Kirk's service is available HERE. The live services will also be available to watch later on Facebook and on the website.
